Severe Learning Difficulties

For some pupils an academic curriculum remains very difficult to access, even with the differentiation described above. 

 

We work with families and other professionals to set realistic and ‘real life’ targets for pupils with a focus on functional literacy and numeracy, life and independence skills.  In KS4 the curriculum offers different pathways according to individual needs and where appropriate pupils will have opportunities to develop a range of more practical skills for life alongside a continuing focus on basic numeracy and literacy skills.

 

All of our pupils have equal opportunities to contribute to the life of the school and are valued as individuals, regardless of their academic ability.
