7T – All about us!

In 7T, our team works hard to meet everyone’s individual needs whilst making sure we have lots of fun too. We are a static Year 7 class that follow the expectations of the school and all feel comfortable with a structured routine and timetable.

Our stimulating curriculum is based on maximising outcomes for pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and other complex learning needs such as Global Learning Delay and Sensory Processing Disorder. We enjoy learning about different topics and explore these through the subjects within our semi-formal curriculum where learning is tailored and differentiated around abilities and needs of each pupil. We thrive through learning abstract topics within English, Maths, Geography, History and RE by using practical lessons to ensure that key knowledge is embedded before moving onto theory lessons.

We work hard on our targets, especially the ones within our EHCP, where we practice this as part of our pastoral programme. These targets are mainly towards creating friendships, working on communication and social skills as well as practicing independence skills. 7T have really enjoyed their Food Technology topic and understanding the basics to kitchen safety and introduction to baking and cooking.

Here in 7T we strive to live out Croft Community School’s vision: ‘Aspire, Believe, Achieve’.
