Croft Community School believes that PSHCE allows our students to develop fully as individuals. The curriculum meets and nurtures the diverse needs of the students at Croft, allows them to flourish, develop holistically and prepare them for the opportunities, challenges, responsibilities and experiences that they will encounter as they grow up and into adulthood.
KS3 students learn about healthy lifestyles, effective relationships, dealing with conflict, self-esteem, resilience and how to cope with difficult situations. By the end of KS3, students will have the opportunity to achieve an ASDAN Certification for PSHCE.
KS4 students explore healthy lifestyles, emotional wellbeing, personal safety, sex and relationship education, drugs education, building and maintaining effective relationships as well as prejudice, discrimination and diversity. KS4 students work towards achieving an Entry Level qualification by the end of Y11.
Y11 students in Croft Community School prepare for leaving school by working through the Careers and Experiencing Work Short Course. This helps our students prepare for life in the workplace. They learn how to apply for jobs and write effective CVs as well as looking at their own personal attributes, skills and qualities and how these translate to the workplace.
