Croft Community School is an active member of Derwentside Sports Partnership and Durham, Cleveland and Darlington Special Schools Sports Association. Students have the opportunity to participate in and enjoy competitions, tournaments, league fixtures and festivals.
KS3 students engage in one lesson per week of core PE. They have the opportunity to explore and engage in a number of different individual and team sports. Some of the topics being delivered to KS3 are Gymnastics, Athletics, Cricket, Rounders, Football, Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball and Tennis.
Within KS4, all of our Y10 students will have the opportunity to gain a BTEC Sport and Active Leisure Qualification by the end of Y11. They engage in one core lesson of PE per week and 3 hours a week as part of their BTEC Sport and Duke of Edinburgh qualification. Our current Y11 students are working towards gaining an Entry Level PE qualification and engage in 2 hours of core PE per week. Our KS4 students are studying topics including Invasion games, Net games, Target games, Striking and Fielding, Health Related Fitness and Athletics.
