Rowan Week 22.09.23
We have all settled well into Rowan class. It is lovely to see some new faces and some friendships continue to develop.
We have got right back into our new year and are busy bees straight away!
In History we have been finding out what chronology means. This has been linked to our English Story the Stone Age Boy. We have been learning about how they made their very own tools out of materials around them. Of course Maple wanted to have a try of making our very own. We began by going on an adventure around the school grounds to look for our perfect flat stones and sticks.
Once we had found them we went back into the classroom and used wool only to tie our flat stones onto our stick. This was a lot more difficult than we thought!
The concentration is real!! Our lovely Rowan pupils worked very hard on these! The hard work payed off! Look at our amazing final products.
In science we have been learning the words ‘waterproof’ and ‘absorbent.’ We carried out an experiment to see what materials are waterproof and which ones absorbed the water.
We found out the clay and the wood absorbed a bit of water.
