To celebrate our diverse and unique school, children in P2 have been learning about Downs Syndrome. We decorated our own odd socks and watched an animation which promoted how amazing our differences can be.
We are super proud of all the children in P2 who have produced amazing information leaflets about plastic pollution. They have done a lot research, watching documentary and news footage, looking at photographs and reading information regarding the issue. They have planned, edited and illustrated their own work, listening to feedback and applying it.
Beaming with pride! Amazing effort P2!
Today pupils at Croft Community who have followed all school expectations and set high standards for all students in school this term received a celebratory party as a reward for being role model students within the school. These pupils also had first selection of the end of term reward trips for having outstanding behaviour.
P5 were explorers for the day. We were inspired by the South Pole explorers Ernest Shackleton and Lou Rudd. We wrote letters to Lou Rudd and have our fingers crossed that he replies.
On a chilly morning, we followed instructions to put up a tent-this was much trickier than we thought! We then wrote instructions for others to follow. Once the tent was up, we all went inside where it was very cosy. After all of this hard work, we had a tasty freeze dried meal of Spaghetti Carbonara which we ate with sporks. We felt like real explorers-such fun!
P5 had great fun in Geography learning all about the water cycle. We enjoyed learning not only how the water cycle works, but we also learnt a water cycle song. We then made our own water cycle bags. We used blue water to represent the sea and we placed the water cycle bags in a sunny place and we waited patiently…
The next day, the water cycle had started and some of the sea had evaporated and condensed-we were amazed!!
Our very own water cycles in P5!
Our girls football team attended Walker Dome Activity Centre on Wednesday. Newcastle United run a league every year and Croft enter 2 teams. We are currently top of the league with another school close behind!! We didn’t lose a single game on Wednesday and our girls made Croft very proud indeed, representing the school with maturity and outstanding behaviour. Well done girls!! Let’s try and win another trophy!!
